Merch etiquette is something everyone needs a brushing up on
1) Know your size before you get to the table- At some points during the night we can have up wards of 20 kids throwing money at us for a tee, we do not have time, in these situations, to figure out if you are a small or med.
2) Do Not Point at a Shirt and Say “That One”- Tell us what shirt by saying: Color, Design, style. This is when your 5 dollar words come in to help us move things along
3) Do Not Get Mad At Us For Not Having Your Size- I totally get it, Band X has the sweetest shirt EVER with a unicorn jumping over Buddy Jesus dressed as a Katy Perry in California Girls, but if a shirt is THAT rad it is bound to have a limited amount because of its awesomeness. Reorders take time and at the end of the tour reorders are pointless.
4) Please, PLEASE try your best to refrain from handing us a sweat soaked bill- its just gross. EXPECIALLY if i see you pull it out of your bra… boob sweat is just as nasty as pit sweat.
5) Dont ask us to get a band member out to the table- Most bands WILL come out to meet fans but
6) Dont try to negotiate prices… while holding a 50- We are not heartless, most of us will do our best to try to help you out by selling a tee for a few bucks off… BUT if you ask us to lower the price from 20 to 15 THEN you hand us a 20 dollar bill… NOT COOL
7) Please Do Not Ask If I Am on the Tour- By my disheveled appearance and jaded attitude toward life… I am clearly on the tour
8) Dont Put Drinks To The Merch Table- Everyone has their Sloppy Sally friend who just to be social has a drink in hand all night however 9/10 times they will spill their drink on the table ruining cds/ posters/ booty short. Do us a solid and hold the drink for Sally!
9) Dont Ask to See Everything and Get Nothing- Time is money. You know how much the Tees are; if you walk into the venue with a 5 bucks dont waste our time trying to see everything we have in every size it comes in.
10) Finally- Buying merch is the one of the most important things YOU can do to support a band. To be honest, going to the shows ARE important but we dont really make a profit off of shows alone. Most bands make their money by selling tees/ cds, if you truly love a band and want them to keep touring help them out by getting a SWEET TEE!
Awesomely true. pay attention kids.
